Ethernet communication between target PC and FPGA succeeds

Event: The Real-Time control platform based on xPC Target is a semi physical simulation system for Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP), which has been used in AMT laboratory for a long time. NI’s PCI-6229 multi-function data acquisition card has always been an indispensable part of the target computer. We abandon the expensive data acquisition card in the target computer and adopt a low-cost ethernet network card to communicate with the external FPGA control board at high speed. At present, the communication loopback time between the target computer and the FPGA control board is at the level of 10-4 s, and thus the platform has high real-time response capability. AMT laboratory will further improve the relevant functions of this platform and apply it to the development of series products.

MarsBird-VI attitude adjustment succeeds

Event: As one of the series of Mars UAV prototypes developed by AMT laboratory, MarsBird-VI adopts electromagnetical pitch adjusting method to control the attitude of aircraft. At present, the prototype has been preliminarily developed and the joystick attitude tracking test has been carried out. The experimental results show that the rotor of MarsBird-VI can imitate the acts of joystick to adjust attitude, but there is still a certain delay in response. The AMT laboratory will further optimize the attitude control algorithm of MarsBird-VI to improve the accuracy of attitude control.

Low-Pressure Thrust Test for S400

Event: Appointed by Mr. Yuan Xue, CTO of GDU Technology, Mr. Hairui Wang brought the S400 rotorcraft to carry out the hovering thrust experiment of the rotor in the simulated environment of Mars in Harbin Institute of Technology. The experimental results show that in the low pressure environment of 1350 Pa with the equivalent Martian atmospheric density, the thrust generated by the rotor of the S400 rotorcraft is greatly reduced. Experimental tests of the plain blade and the plateau blade were carried out respectively. In the experiment, it was found that the generated thrust of the plateau blade under the Martian pressure is slightly higher than that of the plain blade.

Celebrating Teachers’ Day and Mid-Autumn Festival

Event: September 10 is China’s 38th Teacher’s Day, which also coincides with the Chinese traditional festival—Mid-Autumn Festival. AMT laboratory’ students prepared greeting cards, hand-made gifts and short videos in advance to send blessings to the teachers when the festival comes.

At noon that day, the teacher and the students ate moon cakes, chatted about life and the future together in Room 208 of the laboratory. The scientific and rigorous laboratory was filled with a warm and happy atmosphere. The double festival celebrations gradually increased the friendship between teachers and students in the little bit of true feelings, and made ‘The peach and the plum do not speak, yet a path is born beneath them’ and ‘I hope that people will last forever, and thousands of miles will be together’ intertwined into a good wish.

Event: On June 28, Yikang Jin, Ju Liu, Xin Ai, Zhiyuan Kong, Hao Kang, Xinqing Sun, Cheng Cheng, Chuanjie Xu, Shengan Xiong, Qi Wu and Bo Tang, the master students of Aerospace Mechanism Testing Laboratory (AMT), worked hard and managed to pass their thesis defenses. Zhihui Sun, the undergraduate of AMT, passed the thesis defense successfully. AMT held a graduation farewell party for everyone in the “985 Seating” Restaurant. Teachers and students from the AMT took part in the farewell party together.

CELEBRATING the NEW YEAR 2022

Event: At 2:00 pm on December 31, the AMT Laboratory held an online year-end party. The party was hosted by Qi Wu, Kaijie Zhu and Yuanxu Wu. The online year-end party only retained the “2021 Photography Contest”. Under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s year-end party is simple, novel and unforgettable. All members of the AMT Laboratory participated in the online voting, and selected outstanding photographs: Qiukui Zhang won both the Gold Medal and Silver Medal, and Kaijie Zhu won the Bronze Medal. Professor Tang presented awards to the winners, and Professor Quan sent a new year greeting to everyone online.

Event: AMT publishes a research paper entitled “A multi-arm collaborating robot mechanical system for the small body anchoring and sampling” in the Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology. The article is recommended by the editor-in-chief of the magazine as the cover paper of the issue. To solve the problems of the spacecraft anchoring and sampling on the surface of small bodies which are micro-gravity and unknown characteristics, an integrated robot design scheme for anchoring and sampling is proposed. The research broadens the new idea of small celestial body anchoring and sampling.
