Event: At 2:00 pm on December 31, the AMT Laboratory held the year-end party in Room K723, TIB. The party is hosted by Tongzhao Wang and Kaijie Zhu. The programs of the year-end party include AMT’s 2020 annual report; personal annual summary report made by students and engineers; a free speaking session by the teachers; a speech delivered by Professor Tang; the “AMT Laboratory Work Summary Report in 2020” made by Associate Professor Quan; “2020 Photography Contest”; “2020 Outstanding Summary” and “Reverse Command” game interaction. In the “2020 Photography Contest”, Tongzhao Wang wins the Gold Medal, Xinqing Sun wins the Silver Medal, and Tingzhang Wang wins the Bronze Medal. In the “2020 Outstanding Summary”, Yixuan Lv wins the Gold Medal, Kaijie Zhu and Qiuyang Deng win the Silver Medal, and Xin Ai, Tongzhao Wang, Tingting Liu and Zhijun Yu win the Bronze Medal. In the game session, Bo Tang wins the gold award, Ju Liu wins the silver award, Chuanjie Xu wins the bronze award.

Event: Yubao Cao, Wenhe Jiang, Hang Liu, Liyan Liu, Chao Ma, Yilin Shen, Zhiheng Wei and Baohong Sun, the undergraduates of Aerospace Mechanism Testing Laboratory (AMT), worked hard and managed to pass their thesis defenses. Yubao Cao finished his thesis titled “Design and research on automatic docking system for missile loading cartridge” and will join Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Wenhe Jiang finished his thesis titled “Design and research of sampling device for rock ultrasonic grinding on asteroid surface” and decide to stay at Harbin Institute of Technology to pursue his PhD degree. Hang Liu finished his thesis titled “Development of friction torque measuring instrument for small and medium-sized bearings” and will join Chongqing Chang’an Automobile Co., Ltd. Liyan Liu finished her thesis titled “Simulation analysis and experimental vertification of gas-driven asteroid sampling and delivery device” and will join SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. Chao Ma finished his thesis titled “Sampling Device Design and Drilling Characteristic Analysis of Asteroid Rotary Ultrasonic Drilling” and will join Avic Leihua Electronic Technology Research Institute. Yilin Shen finished his thesis titled “Design and experimental study of electromagnetic damping landing buffer device for asteroid probe” and will join Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd. Zhiheng Wei finished his thesis titled “Analysis and experimental research of driving characteristics of ultrasonic/sonic driller in high and low temperature” and will join Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Baohong Sun’s thesis entitled “Development of a Driver for a Percussive Ultrasonic Drill” won the excellent graduation award. He will join CASC.

Event: On June 7, Harbin Institute of Technology celebrated its 100th birthday, and a grand ceremony was held in the square in front of the main building. After the ceremony, accompanied by Academician Zongquan Deng, chairman of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Yansheng Wu visited the Research Center for Aerospace Mechanism and Control. The professor in charge of each research direction separately reported their research achievements. Meanwhile, on behalf of the Aerospace Mechanism Testing team, Dr. Qiquan Quan reported on the research results of asteroid anchoring and sampling and Mars unmanned aerial vehicle. After the meeting, all the professors of the research center gathered in Prof. Deng’s office to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Harbin Institute of Technology.

October 25-29, 2020 convenes the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) at The Caesars Forum Conventional Center in Las Vegas, USA. The theme is “Consumer Robots and Our Future”. Innovative research results are invited but not limited to: robot kinematics/dynamics/control; system integration; robotics and AI; sensor/actuator networks; distributed and cloud robotics; bio-inspired systems, service robots, robotics in automation; biomedical applications; autonomous land, sea, and air vehicles; robot perception; manipulation and grasping; micro/nano systems; sensor information; multi-modal interfaces and human-robot interaction, and robot vision.

Event: At 2:30 pm on December 31, the AMT laboratory held the year-end party in the lecture hall of the university’s activity center. The party was hosted by Tongzhao Wang and Yubao Cao. Tongzhao Wang first read the AMT’s 2019 annual report, and then students and engineers made personal annual summaries. Dr. Rui Wu gave the “Three Things in 2019” report, Associate Professor Qiquan Quan made the “AMT laboratory Work Report in 2019”, and Professor Dewei Tang made the “AMT laboratory Outlook Report in 2020”. In the “2019 Photography Contest”, Kaijie Zhu won the Gold Medal, Yilin Shen won the Silver Medal, and Chao Ma won the Bronze Medal. The year-end party also added the “2019 Outstanding Summary” selection link for students and engineers, in which Tongzhao Wang won the Gold Medal, Baohong Sun won the Silver Medal and Canhui Yin won the Bronze Medal. At 6:00 pm on the same day, a dinner party was held at Shangju Dumpling Hotel.

Event: In the morning of December 29, 2019, Dr. He Li, a former graduate, visited our AMT laboratory. Dr. Li is holding a position of assistant professor at Shandong University of Science and Technology. During this visit, he reported to Professor Zongquan Deng, Professor Dewei Tang and Associate Professor Qiquan Quan about his work and life in Qingdao. In addition, he and his schoolmates shared their past days.

Event: In the afternoon of December 22, 2019, Mr. Defu Zhang, a well-known cultural scholar, came to the Research Center for Aerospace Mechanism and Control for academic exchanges and gave a wonderful lecture on the etiquette of Chinese traditional culture for teachers and students. Mr. Zhang introduced Rongli and morality cultivation in detail, and explained the classics in easy-to-understand language. He hoped to provide a practical operation method for rebuilding the ritual music culture life and present a set of detailed etiquette guide for modern people. Mr. Zhang also mentioned that humanities books can be used as a back garden for science students, and regular reading may improve their cultural accomplishment. The lecture presented a cultural feast and the response was enthusiastic.

Event: In the afternoon of October 14, 2019, invited by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), Professor Zongquan Deng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave the first talk of a series of academic exchanges for the Mechanical Systems Division of the Beijing Institute of Spacecraft System Engineering. Deputy Director Dayi Wang of the Beijing Institute of Spacecraft System Engineering, Director Tao Xiao and Party Secretary Xiao Li of the Mechanical Systems Division and middle-level cadres attended the seminar. The members of the Research Center for Aerospace Mechanism and Control who participated in the exchange seminar were Professor Shengyuan Jiang, Professor Rongqiang Liu, Professor Honghao Yue, Associate Professor Hongwei Guo, Associate Professor Qiquan Quan, Associate Professor Zhen Liu, and Senior Engineer Jianfeng Wang.
